Hey Benedikt, what do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I love being active! I spend a lot of time with friends and enjoy riding my bike—especially at the skate park in Hof, where I can really push myself and try out new tricks.
Can you tell me a bit about your apprenticeship in general?
I’m currently in my second year of training as a warehouse specialist and am getting ready for my final exam. The apprenticeship is incredibly diverse, and no two days are the same! You get to learn all the key warehouse processes and have many opportunities to take on responsibility.
What exactly are your tasks?
My tasks are very varied! I’m responsible for loading and unloading trucks, properly storing goods and materials, and keeping the warehouse running smoothly. I also assist my colleagues with order picking. One of the most exciting aspects is working with forklifts—precision and good coordination are essential here!
How does the apprenticeship at RAUMEDIC work? How long does it last, and what requirements did you have to meet?
My apprenticeship lasts two years, and the minimum requirement is a qualified secondary school diploma. My workday starts at 7:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. Once a week, I meet with my supervisor to discuss upcoming tasks and ask any questions I have. I also regularly prepare presentations on specific topics related to my tasks, which helps deepen my knowledge and reinforce what I’ve learned.
How is the vocational school structured?
I attend vocational school on fixed days, and for me, that’s every Friday. This allows me to immediately apply the theoretical knowledge I learn in school to my practical work.
What interests or talents do you think are important for this apprenticeship?
Being a warehouse specialist is very versatile, so you should enjoy physical work but also be comfortable working on a computer. Having a good technical understanding and strong coordination skills is important, especially when operating forklifts or precisely loading trucks. If you enjoy hands-on work and like being part of a team, you’ll have a great time here!
Why did you choose RAUMEDIC as your training company?
My father has been working at RAUMEDIC for several years and has always told me great things about the company. That sparked my curiosity, and I wanted to see for myself. Now I can say: choosing RAUMEDIC was the right decision! Working here means not only getting an exciting apprenticeship but also being part of a great team.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The variety! Every day brings new tasks and challenges. You have to work responsibly, but there’s also room for fun with colleagues. The mix of teamwork and independence makes the job really exciting!
What makes the apprenticeship at RAUMEDIC special?
It’s a great feeling to know that we store and transport medical products that help people and even save lives. Witnessing the entire process—from developing raw materials to delivering finished products to hospitals—is incredibly fascinating. It really makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger!
