RAUMEDIC Award 2025: Honoring Outstanding Achievements in Engineering

On April 2, 2025, the RAUMEDIC Award was once again presented during the 16th Engineering Symposium at Hof University of Applied Sciences. Each year, RAUMEDIC AG recognizes outstanding final theses in engineering disciplines, reinforcing the vital link between academia and industry.

This year, six graduates were honored for their innovative and hands-on research – three at the bachelor’s level and three at the master’s level. The awarded projects covered a wide range of topics, from glass measurement and digital control systems to energy efficiency in rehabilitation clinics.

This year’s award winners at a glance:

Best Bachelor Thesis:

  • Josua Wicklein3D Measurement and Volume Calculation of Shapes in Industrial Container Glass Production
  • Johannes DietrichCorrelation Study Between CFD Simulations and Wind Tunnel Data for a High Downforce Vehicle
  • Pascal RinglerDesign of Electronic Control Components and Digital Regulation for the Development of a Magnetic Suspension Scale

Best Master Thesis:

  • Niklas RenkExperimental Studies and Modeling of Hydraulics and Mass Transfer in Direct Current for Flue Gas Cleaning
  • Tina SchörnerEnergy Optimization and Decarbonization of Rehabilitation Clinics Using Holistic Building Simulation
  • Raniya Al NadhzafiRecommendation of a Project Management Software for an International Automotive Company

Industry Insights: Leadership Through a Change in Perspective

A highlight of the symposium was the keynote by Philip Repscher, Head of Industrial Engineering Injection Molding. In his keynote titled “Leadership – if it’s not right, go around”, he shared personal insights from his leadership journey.

Borrowing from aviation, “go around” describes an aborted landing when conditions aren’t safe – a metaphor Repscher uses for leadership. His philosophy centers on reassessing situations, embracing new perspectives and being willing to take a different path instead of rigidly sticking to a pre-set course. His approach to flexible leadership resonated strongly with the audience.

Bridging Academia and Industry

Bianca Holler, RAUMEDIC’s Global VP of Human Resources, emphasized the importance of strong university-industry partnerships during her company presentation:

“The RAUMEDIC Award isn’t just about celebrating great work – it’s a targeted investment in young talent. They bring fresh ideas, which are key to driving sustainable innovation.”

Beyond the academic presentations, the symposium provided an elegant setting for the awards ceremony. A festive evening with a Spanish buffet offered ample opportunity for networking and exchange between academic and industry guests.
